DESCRIPTION

What is Hardware Cloth?

Hardware cloth is a lightweight steel that is easy to work with and cut using tin snips. It goes through the process of hot-dip galvanization. Unlike other processes, hot-dip galvanization fully reinforces all welds and joints of the entire fence roll. This process includes dipping the fence roll in a vat of molten zinc, resulting in a complete coat of protection against corrosion.

How Can Hardware Cloth be Used?

Hardware cloth is perfect for keeping out small, pesky critters because of the small mesh size. Hardware mesh can be applied at the bottom of a raised garden bed or underground beneath a bed on the ground. The cloth should also go above ground to prevent animals from climbing into the bed. This barrier will protect crops, specifically vegetables, from critters trying to crawl in through the sides or climb.

Hardware mesh can also be used for individual root baskets in your garden to allow roots to grow through the mesh and be protected if any of the roots get chewed.

Besides protecting your garden, using hardware mesh for home projects, like patching a hole in the wall or installing a durable mesh on a screen door is a great option. Keeping pets in an enclosure or cage is also one of the many uses for hardware cloth. One common use is also constructing chicken coops. You can even use it to scoop and sift kitty garbage because of the small mesh size!

If you think outside the box, there are many creative ways to use hardware cloth in crafts too— there are many versatile uses for it!

How Does Hardware Cloth Hold Up?

Hardware cloth is built to last! You will get a return on your investment using this durable product. The process of hot-dip galvanization ensures that your fence is protected from rust and corrosion. Even at 20 years, your project will still look aesthetically pleasing.
