Thanksgiving Meals To Avoid Feeding Pets

Posted by Jennifer Smith on 25th Nov 2019

Pets, gotta love them; they will wag their tails while flashing on a big bright smile, all to beg for food. Some foods are bad for dogs and cats making them very sick, causing them to get very sick. As homeowners prepare for Turkey Day this week, they must be reminded of the top Thanksgiving meals and treats to avoid feeding pets. Here are foods to say "no" to dogs and cats:

  • Fat Trimmings or fatty foods
  • Turkey skin
  • Turkey bones
  • Corn on the cob
  • Chocolate or pies (sugar and cocoa are no-goes for pets)
  • Nuts
  • Grapes and Raisins
  • Onions and Garlic (onions are toxic and can lead to anemia in dogs)

At the least, dogs will vomit or experience diarrhea and worst case scenario, they will experience pancreatic and liver damage.

It's best to avoid giving these Thanksgiving foods to pets this Turkey Day.
