It's National Gardening Month; and it's time to plant something, anything, in your garden to celebrate. In addition to Earth Day, this month-long campaign encourages gardeners to begin their spring garden and care for the land.

Growing plants requires dedication, patience and time; but for gardeners who grow their own food, they will find that organic plants grown at home produces enough food to feed a family of four for one month.

There are many flowers, trees and shrubs to grow in April including:

  • Pansy
  • Hellebore
  • Redbud
  • Lilac
  • Iris
  • Daffodil
  • Tulip
  • Bluestar
  • Azalea

April flowers of the month are daisies and sweat peas and can also be grown this season. This National Garden Month, enjoy the fresh air and plant something this spring!
