This digital and highly accurate electric fence tester not only indicates if the electric fence is electrified but if it is hot enough to keep animals secure. This fencemeter for electric fences can test up to 10000 volts. (Your electric deer fence should deliver as much shock as the charger.) This fence charger is easy to use: Simply measure the voltage at the charger; then measure the voltage anywhere on the fence line.
If there is considerable drop, look for causes such as:
- Thick growths of weeds;
- Fence wire brushing against wet wood or steel posts;
- Insulators cracked or chipped.
