Why Use High Tensile Fence?

When farmers and gardeners think about fence installation, they consider many factors: aesthetics, cost, garden protection and deer management. As growers outweigh the pros and cons of each fence type, they may see that not all fences are created equally.
When we talk to growers, they say they need the strongest fence; and of course we point them in the direction of Fixed Knot Fence, a woven wire fence with high tensile steel. Besides its strength, there are other reasons to buy high tensile fences.When we talk to growers and livestock owners, they say they need the strongest fence available on the market; and of course we point them in the direction of Fixed Knot Fence, a woven wire fence with high tensile steel. Besides its strength, there are other reasons to buy high tensile fences to avoid farm and fence problems.
Longevity
Solid Lock Fences last longer than any type of garden fence. These fences will remain strong for at least 30-40 years, in comparison to the 20 years of a plastic deer fence and the 30 years of a PVC-coated metal deer fence.
Good For Keeping-in Cattle
Cattle-raisers are steering away from using electric fence for cattle management for a few reasons:
- Electric fence chargers are not long-lasting;
- Batteries are expensive and are not holding up;
- Cattle owners need to check on livestock more frequently.
But, Fixed Knot Fences are strong enough to keep-in these large animals as well as other types of farm animals. That means no need to constantly check-in on them.
Installation is easier than barbed wire
When we think about bear management, we may be quick to act on buying electric fence (see notes above) or another type of fence such as barbed wire. Although barbed wire fences have some positive features, this type of farm fence is probably the least enjoyable for fence installation. (Do you want to get pricked? I would hope not.)
Keeping Out Wildlife
Fixed Knot Fence are ideal for deer control; but are also used to keep out bears, coyotes and other predatory animals. Woven Wire Fencing is a solid choice for wildlife management on farms and in gardens.
