Zip ties are one of the most essential parts of a deer fence system. The self-locking ties are used to attach the fence mesh to the line posts. When using heavy duty zip ties, homeowners may not be sure how many to use on the fence. 

It is recommended to use one zip tie every foot along the vertical line post for best results. Use more if necessary. Fence installers are given 100+ zip ties for that reason! 

The excess zip tie on the fence can be removed using a cutter puller tool to give the fence a polished look. This tool can also pull the zip tie stronger against the post.
